I entered the State Fair of Texas competition with a needle felt sculpture in 2011 and low and behold I won first place.

New Year, new adventure

Every year, it seems I find a new interest in my creative life.  Last year it was colored pencil painting. 
This year I've discovered carving or engraving on several surfaces like metal, gourds, wood and ostrich eggs.  I just received my high speed tool called a Power Carver and have started practicing.  My goal is to carve gourds, as I am a member of the Texas Gourd Society and hope to enter some of my work in their competitions.  I also hope to achieve the ability to carve gun stocks

Out with the old in with the new!

I was so busy at the end of 2011 that I didn't create any new art or crafts. 
We had our CTADS Christmas party where we each exposed our "doll in a year".  Here is a photo of my needlefelted one.

Meet Shiela, she's been teaching belly dancing for some time now and she considers herself quite an expert.  When she's not dancing she travels the world in her hot air balloon.
